While these are still early days in the search for new football clubs, Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani is reportedly looking to purchase a football club in England. But the club is Arsenal based in North London and not Liverpool or Manchester United, as suggested by the rumours earlier.

Previously, the rumours of Mukesh Ambani purchasing the Manchester United football club. But, it has now been reported that it is Arsenal that Indian business tycoon has his eyes on.

According to reports, Mukesh Ambani’s son Akash Ambani, who is a big fan of the Arsenal football club, and the club is the one that the Ambani family would purchase if they enter the world of football. The report adds that the appetite of India for investing in non-cricket entities is increasing, and Mukesh Ambani is reportedly interested in the project.

Simon Chadwick, professor of sport and geopolitical economy at the SKEMA Business School said that, there is a growing appetite in India for non-cricket investment opportunities in sport, and this also likes to the digital and entertainment economy of India.
