The alleged use of photos and footage in misleading ways in two trailers for the upcoming documentary series from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Netflix has been criticized. As Meghan Markle and Prince Harry discuss being sidelined by the Royal Family and harassed by the media, the series’ trailers feature archive footage and images.
On the other hand, at least three images are thought to have been taken from events that had nothing to do with Meghan and Harry. There have been no comments from Archewell, Netflix, or the Sussexes’ production company. An image may have been cropped to make it appear as though the couple was left on the edge of a royal event rather than in the center.
After ITV host Lorraine Kelly described the use of the footage and images as bizarre, the veteran royal correspondent Jennie Bond, has criticized the trailers for their poor production values.
There are five examples that have been featured from the main secret trailer and the drawn out trailer. A picture of the paparazzi appears just before a clip of Prince Harry stating that he must do everything in his power to safeguard his family in the trailers.
The footage that appears to show the couple being pursued by paparazzi in the second trailer was actually taken when Katie Price, a former model, arrived at the Crawley Magistrates Court in December 2021.
The reporters, cameramen, and photographers appear to be closely following the couple in another section of the second trailer.
