Grupo Bimbo has announced new plans to spend around 630 million dollars to build two plants in Georgia and Ohio, and these two plants are expected to create nearly 615 jobs. The Georgia facility will cost around 200 million dollars to build, and will create 295 new jobs. Valdosta is the site of another facility of the company, and it is a hot dog, hamburger, and sandwich bun plant, that is close to completion.
Additionally, a 431 million dollars plant in Ohio, will create 320 new jobs, and the new positions include roles in departments such as packaging, shipping, production, support, management, and administration.
Brian P. Kemp, Governor of Georgia, said that they are excited that Grupo Bimbo has selected Georgia for the investment, and they are looking forward to others in the upcoming years. Brian P. Kemp added that, in 2021, they celebrated more than 60 percent of jobs created outside of Atlanta, and they are staying focused on bringing opportunities to all the people of Georgia.
This project highlights positive partnership between the local and state partners, which continues making the community a desirable location for the world-leading companies such as Grupo Bimbo to invest and grow their business globally. The new facilities extend Grupo Bimbo’s impressive footprint, with over 200 facilities and over 1,700 sales centres that are located around 33 countries around the world.
