Wallbox Opens first factory in North America

Business

Wallbox, a provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging and energy management solutions worldwide, has officially opened its first manufacturing facility in North America located in Arlington, Texas.

The factory, which is designed to produce more than 250,000 units in 2022, and over a million in 2030, will manufacture all the chargers of the company in the United States that will serve multiple segments of electric vehicle charging, including bidirectional charging, residential charging, and hyperfast highway corridor charging.

Enric Asuncion, chief executive officer of Wallbox, said that today only 3 percent of the required chargers were installed globally, showing the magnitude of the need for reliable and innovative charging solutions.

Enric Asuncion added that bringing the manufacturing capabilities of Wallbox to the United States significantly bolsters their ability to meet the needs of the US, and deliver on public funding programs, while also driving the energy transition.

As part of the factory opening, the company offered a live demonstration of Hypernova, which is Wallbox’s hyperfast DC charging solution that delivers around 400 kW of charging power, making it a deal for highway corridors.
