PepsiCo is investing another 100 million dollars, on top of the 320 million dollars invested over the past decade in Romania, to double the production capacity of its snack plant in the country. Silviu Popovici, CEO of PepsiCo for Europe, said that as a main production and distribution hub for its central and eastern markets of Europe, Romania is an important kingpin for the snack giant.

Silviu Popovici said that PepsiCo has been operating and investing in Romania for around 30 years, and they still remain committed to further developing the business in the country. High-quality agricultural products and talented people are the basis of the growth of their business in Romania. As they implement PepsiCo Positive, these investments will continue to advance their progress in the field of sustainability in the country.

Adrian Lacatus, senior commercial director of PepsiCo for the Eastern Balkans, said that PepsiCo is in continuous development, and they also aim to deliver the quality that their customers expect through sustainability and have a positive impact on the industry.

Adrian Lacatus added that since 2020, they have provided even more support to the local communities and have helped many farmers get loans to start businesses, as well as with purchasing farm equipment, building warehouses, and purchasing fertilizers and seeds.

The new investment comes after PepsiCo completed another development plan at its 40 million dollar soft drinks factory to increase production capacity to 550,000 tonnes of finished products annually.
