Power & Energy

GE Renewable Energy, a division of General Electric, has secured a contract from Green Power Investment (GPI), an investment company from Japan to supply wind turbines for its Fukaura wind energy farm based in Aomori, Japan. Under the new contract, GE Renewable Energy will deliver 19 of its 117 onshore turbines for the 79.8 megawatt wind energy farm.

This contract is the third that GE Renewable Energy has secured from GPI to date. Mitsuru Sakaki added that GPI thank GE Renewable Energy for its commitment to their goal of a wind power project that will harness the resources of the region, including the wind, and build the future of the region. They will also look forward to working with GE Renewable Energy to establish a long-term collaboration to increase the level of efficiency, and optimisation to move Japan closer to its sustainable energy goals.
