Nissan is planning to stop the production of the Rogue Sport in North America. The Nissan Rogue Sport entered the marketplace in 2017 with major aspirations, but the subcompact SUV has failed to serve as the entry point for the young buyers it was mainly intended to be.

As Nissan is reshuffling its lineup to focus on the electric vehicles, and also refreshes the legacy vehicles, it has become clear that the future of the Rogue Sport is in danger. While Nissan has completely redesigned the compact SUV Rogue Sport for the model year 2021, and is all set to do the same with the 2024 subcompact SUV.

The major challenge to the Nissan Rogue Sport has been the Kicks, which have similar cargo space and has sportier handling. The larger Rogue has seized sales from the Rogue Sport because of its larger size, more comfortable seats, stronger engine, and more upscale cabin.

Originally, the Rogue Sport was designed to introduce young buyers to the brand. Nissan also hoped that the buyers would move up to larger and more expensive Nissan vehicles as they grew older, and also expand their families.
