Disney Plus to Increase Subscription Prices in the US

Disney Plus recently announced that it will increase the price of its subscription from 7.99 dollars per month to 10.99 dollars per month. Disney Plus said these new prices will be applicable in the United States starting December 8, 2022.

The company is also working on a tier supported by advertisements, which similar to what Hulu is offering. The monthly subscription is priced at 7.99 dollars per month, and this new advertisement-supported tier will not have an annual plan.

According to the reports, the increased prices directly stems from the operating loss in third quarter of 2022, which amounted to 1.1 billion dollars. But despite of the losses, Disney Plus seems to be gaining subscribers, adding over 14.4 million subscribers in third quarter of 2022, which brought the total subscriber to 152.1 million.

Disney Plus will also be offering a bundle, which includes access to the Hulu, ad-free Disney Plus, and an ad-supported ESPN Plus plan, which is priced at 19.99 dollars per month.

Talking of Hulu, the subscriber will have to give more money with the ad-supported plan, which is now increased to 7.99 dollars per month. Hulu said that, these new prices will be applicable from October 10, 2022.
