UK’s Cera raises $320-Million to Expand its Services

Business

Cera, a digital-first home healthcare provider, has announced that it has raised 320 million dollars in equity and debt to expand from servicing 15,000 to 100,000 patients every day, freeing up NHS beds, and also boosting the care capacity of the United Kingdom by the equivalent of more than 50 hospitals.

This raise cements Cera’s place as the top player in the digital-first home healthcare market in Europe, and more broadly, Cera is also one of the fastest growing companies on the continent.

Cera is currently operating in the United Kingdom and Germany, providing nursing, delivering care, telehealth, and prescription delivery services in the home supported by technology, and around 10-fold more affordable than a patients, who are receiving care in the hospital because of its technology-powered model.

The carers and nurses of Cera also collect patient symptoms, and health data during at-home appointments that its artificial intelligence algorithms use to predict deterioration in the conditions before they occur, and triggering earlier health interventions for preventing the people to become sick.

This technology has decreased the hospitalization rates by 52 percent, and predicted around 80 percent of hospitalisations in advance, with decreasing patient numbers drops by 17 percent, infections by 15 percent, and urinary problems by 47 percent. It also helped to improve medication and prescription compliance in the older patients by 35 percent.

The funding comes as the NHS hospital waiting lists reach record high of 6.6 million, and the world also continues to adapt to living with COVID-19, which is exacerbating the need for quality, along with care powered by technology to be provided in the home.
