General Motors is bringing artificial intelligence (AI) technology into the vehicle inspection process. The automobile company is making and unrevealed diagnostic systems that uses sensors and artificial intelligence to quickly identify the damaged parts or maintenance problems.

The investment of the company in UVeye had been made by GM Ventures, the venture fund of the automobile company, which also has investments in a variety of the other start-ups themed by artificial intelligence.

As a part of the partnership, General Motors will sell technology of UVeye to the company’s dealer network for upgrading their vehicle inspection systems. General Motors is also going to work with UVeye on a variety of technology projects for vehicle inspection involving the used car auctions, automotive dealership sales and fleet operations.

Based on videos and images provided by the company, technology of UVeye looks like an airport body scanner for the cars of customers. The car drives through the scanner with the illuminated lights on the inside, and service providers have a detailed report regarding everything that is wrong with their car down to the tire pressure.
