USDA Launched Feds Feed Families 2022

Tom Vilsack, secretary of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced the launch of the 13^th annual Feed Families program, which has been a voluntary food drive that is encouraging the employees from all the federal agencies for the purpose of giving in-kind contributions including the food, services and the to the pantries and food banks of their choice.

The USDA is also honoured for leading the campaign for all the federal employees and the theme for 2022 has been Fighting Hunger-Giving Hope. The launch event for 2022 had been held at the Capital Area Food Bank in the region of Washington, D.C. with the help of the donors, volunteers and the partner organizations along with the food bank has been distributing over 45 million meals per annum.

Kim Peyser, deputy assistant secretary of USDA had been on hand to shepherd in the campaign of 2022 that is focusing on the summer giving from 27^th June 2022 to 30^th September 2022 and also encouraging the federal employees for giving year round and till now in 2022, over 1.5 million pounds of the food has also been donated through the campaign.

Kim Peyser also said that, over 38 million people of the United States, which is including 12 million children and experienced food insecurity along with thanking the federal employees for the participation in the important program. A food bank client said, everyone deserves access to the food regardless of the economic status, along with current situation and racial background.
