The Centre for Excellence in Agriculture and Food Integrity is going to be developing an innovative and scientific-measurement solutions and the digital technologies for providing help in making supply chains more sustainable, safe, reliable and productive.
The Centre is also going to be educating and training the current and future leaders of the industry across the United Kingdom along with the specialist skills and knowledge that is needed for a competitive and fast-changing agriculture food industry.
The Centre has been a part of an ambitious partnership between the National Measurement Laboratory (NML) and Queen’s University Belfast is going to be based at the ASSET Technology Centre at the Queen’s University Belfast’s significant innovation ecosystem across the globe.
Prof. Julian Braybrook, chemist and director of National Laboratories at LGC of UK government has given a presentation at the launch event. He said that, the NML at the LGC and the Queen’s University Belfast are having strong and highly complementary environments for research.
He added that, by the adoption of a One Health approach, the Centre is going to be fostering an interdisciplinary culture that has been facilitating the innovation in the scientific measurement and the acceleration of the impact for marketing through the all-time supported delivery of the Innovation, Net Zero and National Food Strategies of the Government of the United Kingdom.
