The United Kingdom has been locked in a battle for holding on to the production of the future range of electric vehicles of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) as the concerns grow that, the government of the United Kingdom is falling behind in the race for building the vital battery factories.

The automobile company ‘JLR’said, it continued for exploring all the options for the battery supply amid the reports that, the company could build the electric cars in the eastern region of Europe. According to the reports, the company had been considering to buy the batteries from the Northvolt AB of Sweden or SVOLT Enery Technology of China for a range of the electric cars that the company might be assembling in the region of Slovakia.

The company is also in talks with the government of the United Kingdom for the construction of a battery plant for the purpose of ensuring a local source of the batteries. This is followed by the commitment of JLR in 2021 for making the Jaguar brand as the electric-only brand by 2025 and also pledging to abandon the petrol vehicles completely in the upcoming decade and currently it has just one pure electric vehicles model including the I-Pace built in Austria.
