Fazer Launched World’s First and Sustainable Xylitol Made From Oats

The food technology company ‘Fazer’ based in Finland is producing xylitol from the hulls of oats, which has been ticking two of the important demands of the consumers including the sustainability and health. The Fazer Xylitol has now started the operations in the region of Lahti based in Finland that has been equipped for performing a patented process that is transforming the upcycled the hulls of oats into the sustainable xylitol.

Christoph Vitzthum, chief executive officer and president of Fazer Group said, they are having hand innovation where they are combining the patented new technology and the more healthy options to the consumers and is also an excellent example of an innovative circular economy solution.

Until now, the oat hulls have now been used for the energy production not for the food fit for the human consumption, which is making the product and the production process has been completely unique.

Christoph Vitzthum said, their new xylitol factory in the country of Finland has been a great example of the circular economy along with the preventing the waste and in which side the stream are upcycled intelligently and what remains of the oat hulls after the processing of the xylitol has been used as bioenergy.

James Dedman, vice president of Fazer Foodtech said, they want to create sustainable solutions for the people and the planet and their xylitol has been showing how the side streams can possibly be utilized and they are now wanting to revolutionize the ways in which people have been thinking about the food.
