US CDC Raised Coronavirus Travel Alert For Taiwan

According to the reports, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States have raised the corona virus travel alert for Taiwan to the high-risk Level 3 category. The listing means that, the country of Taiwan had more than 100 corona virus cases per 100,000 residents in the past 28 days, and the country has recorded a single-day record of 68,732 transmissions locally on 15th May 2022.

According to the US CDC, the travelers should possibly avoid travelling to the Level 3 countries if they are not updated with their corona virus vaccinations, which also means that, if they have not received the covid-19 booster shots for which they have been eligible. On Monday, 16th May 2022, the category has listed 110 countries or destinations from across the world including Germany, France, Canada, Vietnam and Japan.

Along with Taiwan, South Africa and the Caribbean country of Antigua and Barbuda had also moved from the Level 2 medium risk category to the Level 3 and before 3rd May 2022, the country of Taiwan had been listed as a Level 1 low-risk destination.

Under the latest ranking system of the US CDC, no countries have been included in the Level 4 list, which has been reserved for the extreme emergency corona virus cases and also Macau and Cambodia have also been listed in another group that has been described as having a not known level of risk.
