Justin Trudeau, prime minister of Canada, has announced a new federal investment in the project funding for the automobile company ‘Stellantis’ that is going to be modernizing the assembly plants and also increasing the production of the electric vehicles (EV).
According to a statement from the office of the prime minister of Canada, the government of the country has been investing around 529 million Canadian dollars into the project and the Ontario province is also going to be supporting the project along with an investment of around 513 Canadian dollars.
The prime minister of Canada said that, they are now building a world-class automobile industry of Canada for the generations to come, which has been an innovative economy and a clean along with a string future for everyone and this has been what a healthy environment and a healthy economy is looking like.
Doug Ford, premier of Ontario said that, Ontario is having everything it is needing for being the automobile manufacturing powerhouse of North America once again and this province is having the largest population of Canada.
The project worth multi-billion dollars from Stellantis is going to be providing support to the plants of the company in the region of Windsor and Bramptom, Ontario, along with implementing the flexible vehicle platforms at both the plants and also increasing the production of the electric vehicle of the company.
The government of Canada is putting in place a sales mandate that will make sure that 100 percent of the new-light dusty vehicle sales have been zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) by the year 2035.
