German Prosecutors Raided Suzuki Plants in Diesel Probe

The prosecutors of Germany said that, the investigators had been conducting the raids that are targeting Suzuki, car producing company based in Japan over the alleged use of the so-called defeat devices that have been making the vehicles that are appearing less polluting they actually are.

The Japanese car producing company has been suspected of putting into the circulation by the year 2018 more than 22,000 diesel vehicles, and it is also including the company’s Cross, Swift and Vitara models that have been equipped with the illegal devices, as said by the prosecutors in a statement. Another two companies including Marelli and Stellantis and they are also targeted for the purpose of providing the components for the vehicles.

The alleged involvement of the company ‘Stellantis’, which has been originated with the engines that are supplied by the FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles), which has been merged with the PSA of France for the purpose of forming the new group. Meanwhile, Marelli had also been accused for providing the software of the engine.

The investigators had also been raiding the sites across the countries including Italy, Germany and Hungary for the purpose of securing the proof of the elements and in particular the communications data, planning the documents and software. The transport ministry of Japan had said that, Suzuki Motor, Yamaha and Mazda has also admitted that, they have been using the fake emissions data for some of the vehicles.
