The company ‘Mini’ has now stopped the production of all the model variants along with a manual gearbox, and the company has also cited the constraints of the supply chain as the main cause for the decision, which had been exacerbated by the Ukraine and Russia and the shortage of the semiconductor across the globe.
Therefore, the production has been halted and because of this along with the increased demand if the customer, which has been a decision for stopping the production of the manual cars had been taken for ensuring the production stability of the company.
The cheapest Mini hatchback on offering has been the entry-level Mini 3dr Cooper Classic auto, which has been costing 18,815 pounds as compared with the manual increase 1,400 pounds in the version’s 17,415 pounds.
The Mini has not yet confirmed that, if this decision is going to be permanent and before this decision, all the models of Mini had been available for buying with a manual gearbox and has also barred the Mini Electric.
The company said that, the current situations, which is including the Russia and Ukraine war and the shortages of semiconductors have been causing the restrictions in the supply chain across the automobile industry across the globe.
The company also said that, in order for securing the maximum production output for the purpose of meeting the increasing customer demand and their product offer also needs to be simplified.
