The automobile company ‘General Motors’ said, it is going to be offering an fully electric Corvette by the year 2023 as the company is continuing to strengthen the foothold of the company in the electric vehicle market of the United States.
Mark Reuss, president of General Motors said, the automobile company is also going to be offering fully electric vehicle along with Corvette based on Ultium in the future and more details on the electric vehicles have been expected to be provided in the future.
The interest in the electric vehicles has been increasing among the consumers as the demand for an electric Corvette has been building among the fan base of the sports car. In the month of August 2021, Joe Biden, president of the United States has even discussed how he had a conversation with Mary Barra, chief executive officer of General Motors about wanting to test drive the fully electric Corvette once it has been built.
Previously, Honda and General Motors has announced that, hey are now planning for co-developing some of the affordable electric vehicles that is going to use the next-generation Ultium battery technology of General Motors.
The vehicles, which are going to be including a compact crossover and are now expected to start going on sale in the region of North America in 2027. General Motors has also set a goal of building the only fully electric passenger vehicles by the year 2035 and the company has also pledged for having 30 electric vehicle models for sale across the globe by 2025.
