On Wednesday, 20th April 2022, a spokesperson of the European Commission said that, the European Union is not planning to abandon the digital corona virus certificated just yet even though most of the countries in the world has lifted the sanitary restrictions that had been related to the novel corona virus.

The validity period of the certificate is normally going to come to an end at June 2022, and the spokesperson said that, they have proposed to prolong it for one more time simply because they does not know how the epidemiological situation is going to be developed over the upcoming months.

The covid-19 certificate has been greatly facilitated for safe travel within the European Union and has also supported the tourism industry. Since July 2021, the European Union has also been operating a system of the digital novel corona virus certificated, and the document has also issued to the people, who are fully vaccinated, along with a recent negative PCR test or a successful recovery from the novel corona virus.
