For advancing the commitment of Toyota to the vehicle electrification, the company is going to invest 383 million dollars in four of its manufacturing plants in the United States that are responsible for building the heart of the new Toyota and Lexus vehicles. This new investment of Toyota is going to be supporting the production of the four cylinder engine, which is including the options for the hybrid electric vehicles at the company’s plants based in the region of Missouri, Tennessee, Alabama and Kentucky.
Norm Bafunno, senior vice president of Unit Manufacturing and Engineering at Toyota said, the customers of Toyota want the vehicles that are electrified and fuel-efficient, and these investments also allow them for meeting the needs of the customers and quickly responding to an evolving market and they are now committed for investing in the United States.
In 2021, Toyota announced the new investments totaling 5.1 billion dollars into the manufacturing operations of the United States for supporting the electrification efforts, along with demonstrating the commitment for building where the company sells and supporting the local enemies.
The US plants of Toyota for producing the half of the vehicles the company sells in the United States and the company’s North American assembly facilities for producing more than 76 percent of the vehicles the company sells in the United States. In addition to the improvements to the manufacturing facilities of Toyota, the company is investing in the workforce of the future.
