EDP Renewables and Meta Partnered To Developed New Solar Park in Texas, US

EDP Renewables, which the four largest renewable energy producer and Meta has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the purpose of developing a new solar energy park in the region of Texas, the United States.

The EDP Renewables North America has developed and it is going to be constructing, owning and operating the Cattleman Solar Park, which is having an estimated capital investment of around 280 million dollars and is also anticipated for being operational in the year 2023.

The Cattleman Solar Park is going to be providing some economic benefits by the ay of payments to the local owner of the lands, along with the taxes that have been paid for supporting the essential community services and the job opportunities during the construction and operations of the solar project among others. The project is also going to be powering the equivalent of over 37,000 average homes in the state of Texas and saving around 304 million gallons of water annually.

Urvi Parekh, head of renewable energy at Meta said. As their global infrastructure is continuing to grow, along with the partnerships like the one with the EDP Renewables have been increasingly important for them for the purpose of meeting their ambitious sustainability goals.

She also said that, the investment in the local communities has been important to them and they are very proud that, this project is going to bring the new solar energy to the grid.
