A dietary supplement, which is sold in the United Kingdom can also be toxic and it should not be used until the supplement has been shown for being safe as warned by an international group of the biologists.
The team of biologists from the Kyoto and Manchester universities has reported that, the supplement, which is known as SAMe, can possibly break down inside the body into the substances that is responsible for causing a wide range of the medical problems, which is including the liver and kidney damage.
SAMe, which stands for S-adenosylmethionine is also marketed online in the United Kingdom as an agent, which can possibly help a range of the conditions including the liver and joints diseases and also promoting the emotional well-being.
Jean-Michel Fustin, working at Manchester University said, the experiments that, he and his partners had carried out and has also revealed that, SAMe is breaking down into the methylthioadenosine and adenine in the body, and these substances are also known to be very toxic.
Jean-Michel Fustin also said that, this discovery has been coming out of the blue, and when they have given the supplement to the mice, which they have expected that, they will become more healthy, but instead of that, they have found the opposite results.
They found that, when SAMe has been breaking down in the body and it produces very to very toxic molecules including the adenine, which is responsible for causing kidney, liver and gout disease.
