By recognizing the importance of the climate-change financing and the struggles of the country of Jamaica and several other vulnerable countries have been facing, and the United Kingdom has donated 10 million dollars towards the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) Partnership Financial Strategy.
Judith Slater, new British high commissioner to Jamaica said, the investment of her country have been of a paramount importance towards building out a strong financial base amid at the member countries that are providing much-needed funding for the purpose of mitigating the climate change and also its impacts.
Judith Slater also said, the United Kingdom has recognized the frustrations of the climate-vulnerable countries have been facing as they have been trying to access the climate finance, and those challenges are often been slow, resource-intensive and uncertain and is not always aligned with the own national priorities of the partner countries.
As the previous pledge had been made at the climate change conference of the United Nations, which is more commonly referred to as COP26, in the region of Glasgow and the high commissioner of the United Kingdom has also argued that, the threatening levels of the climate change and the need for the funding has now ignited the desire for giving more.
Judith Slater also said, at the COP26, the United Kingdom has announced a contribution of 5 million pounds to this fund and she is very delighted that, they have now double the contribution and is going to be providing 10 million pounds for the purpose of accelerating the deployment of funding for the technical expertise.
