Toyota Denies Plans To Stop Car Production In UK

The automobile company ‘Toyota’ has denied its commitment that, it might stop the production of the cars in the United Kingdom because of the plans of the UK government for shifting to the fully electric vehicles more rapidly.

The Japanese automobile company said, it is ready for selling only zero-emission cars in the United Kingdom and has reiterated the view of the company that, the hybrid cars have a significant role to play in the transition by the year 2035 as the United Kingdom is preparing to set some new targets for the automobile industry.

Toyota is all focused on achieving a long-term and more sustainable future in the continent of Europe, which is including the plants of the company in the United Kingdom, and the also said that, it had warned Grant Shapps, Transport Secretary of the United Kingdom that, the company might cease the manufacturing in the United Kingdom.

Toyota said, it is sharing the ambition of the United Kingdom for heading towards the net-zero emissions and the company also declined to comment on the mandates of UK government because it has not seen a draft of the rules that is being prepared by the UK Department for Transport.

Toyota said, they are continuing to see a role for many of the different technologies in the transition to the net-zero targets based on the principle of the mobility for all the vehicles including the vehicle built in the United Kingdom.
