On Monday, 4th April 2022, the national public health agency of the United States said, the BA.2 sub-variant of the Omicron covid-19 variant had been estimated to account for around three of every four corona virus variant in the United States.

Overall, the novel corona virus cases in the United States has been decreased rapidly after hitting the record levels in the month of January, but an increase in the corona virus cases in the parts of Asia and Europe has now raised concerns that another wave of the virus can possibly follow in the United States, and the health experts of the United States believe that it is unlikely.

According to the data from the US CDC, the seven-day average of the corona virus cased in the United States had been 26,106 as of 1st April 2022, which is marginally lower than 26,309 from the previous week.

The BA.2 sub-variant of the Omicron covid-19 variant has been around 86 percent of all the sequenced covid-19 cases across the globe, and according to the World Health Organization, it has been known for being more transmissible than the other sub variants of the Omicron. Although, the evidence is so far suggesting that, it has been no more likely to cause some serious disease.
