Woodside Energy and Heliogen Announced Commercial-Scale Partnership and Demonstration Project

Woodside Energy, a subsidiary of Australia-based energy producer ‘Woodside Petroleum Ltd’ and Heliogen, a leading provider of concentrated solar energy enabled by artificial intelligence, has announced a project agreement or partnership for the purpose of commercial-scale demonstration deployment of the concentrated solar energy technology enabled by artificial intelligence of Heliogen that is proposed to be built in Mojave, California, US.

The project agreement has been following the Limited Notice To Proceed (LNTP), which was announced previously, for starting the procurement of the key equipment for the purpose of deploying the commercial scale, and a single-module 5 megawatt electric facility.

Under this project agreement, the company ‘Heliogen’ is going to complete the engineering, procurement and construction of the facility along with the construction that is estimated to start once the permits are approved. Both the companies have agreed for including the scope and the associated funding from Heliogen’s 39 million dollars award from the Department of Energy of US for deploying the renewable energy technology of Heliogen in California, US.

The project is also going to be including the deployment and testing of an innovative approach for the purpose of converting the thermal energy that is produced by the facility of Heliogen into the power, which is having the potential for delivering the high efficiencies along with a small footprint than the turbines of traditional steams.
