Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has now developed a new portable charging device has called the Off Grid Battery Energy Storage System (ESS) that has been powered by the batteries recovered from the I-Pace Electric SUV, and the ESS has now integrated solar energy panels and it comes fitted with the Type 2 connectors for charging the electric vehicles, and the company has also been tested by the Jaguar TCS Formula E team.

The Energy Storage System (ESS) has been developing in the partnership with the electric equipment manufacturer known as Pramac, and the system has been claiming to use 85 percent of the electric hardware from the I-Pace, which is including the components such as the wiring and modules, and the remaining materials are then recycled back into the cupply chain.

The ESS is having a capacity of around 125 kWh, and according to JLR, it is sufficient for powering a house in the United Kingdom for a week, and the ESS can also further be topped up through the integrated solar energy panels.
