General Motors Launches All-Electric Cadillac Lyriq in US

General Motors has now launched the first fully-electric Cadillac Lyriq in the assembly line of the company at the Tennessee vehicle manufacturing plant that has been marking an important milestone as the automobile company has been ramping up the investment in the state.

Mark Reuss, president of General Motors said that, the company has been marking a new era for the Cadillac because the company has been flipping the switch on the transition of a fully electric line-up for the brand of General Motors, and this vehicle has also been an another step on the path to the electric vehicle leadership for them.

The employees from the production facility had been present and has cheered as the new Cadillac has been launched down the line, and Bob Rolfe, Economic and Community Development commissioner of Tennessee has also attended the event. The automobile companies are also making big investments in the state of Tennessee as the automobile industries in the United States has been racing towards a fully-electric future.

In the year 2020, General Motors has also announced an investment of 2 billion dollars for the purpose of renovating the plant at Spring Hill that is going to be allowing the facility for producing more electric vehicles like the Cadillac Lyriq. The plant of General Motors has been the largest plant of the company in the United States and has been employing 3,252 workers as analyzed in the month of June 2021.
