BMW Recalls Over 900,000 Vehicles in US

BMW has been recalling more than 900,000 vehicles in the United States for the purpose of fixing a faulty component that can possibly cause a fire in the engine compartment of the vehicles, and it has been third time the company ‘BMW’ has recalled most of the older vehicles for the same problem.

In the documents that are filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States, the company said that, this recall is including more than 917,000 vehicles, and the company is also estimating that, one percent of these vehicles are having the defect.

This recall includes most of the BMW 3 Series, along with 5 Series, X3, X5 and the Z4 vehicles from the model years 2006 through the year 2013, and the company also said that, a component, which is called as a blow-by-heater might not have been produced by the supplier to the required specifications and as a result, the part can possibly cause a short circuit and may also lead to fire.

The company has also issued the recalls for the same part issue in the years 2017 and 2019 and since 2019, the company recorded several thermal events in the engine compartments of the vehicles that had been fixed and recalled, and now the company ‘BMW’ is also recalling the vehicles again and the expansion of the recall for including the vehicle models of 2012 and 2013.
