US DOE and Amazon Partnered to Reduce Plastic Waste

Amazon has now joined the project ‘BOTTLE’ backed by US DOE for the purpose of helping in further progressing in the development of the chemical upcycling, and the research partnership has been a way of handling the plastics and also making sure that, the plastics are going to be recyclable by the design.

Gregg Beckham, chief executive officer of BOTTLE said that, the plastics are extremely been versatile materials and they are often still been the best option available for a set of functions.

He also said that, finding a way for better recycling the single-use plastics at the time of decreasing and ultimately eliminating the use of the plastics has been a big challenge of their time and they are very much committed for pursuing the scientific advancement to this end, and with the innovation expertise of Amazon they are very much excited for working together for finding the solutions that are having the potential for having the large and positive impacts.

As a part of the consortium, the growing team of Amazon of the materials scientists and experts are hoping to develop the materials and technologies that is going to be enabling the complete cycle of the plastics for reaching the goal of net-zero carbon.

The team of Amazon is going to be working with the consortium for the purpose of creating the new and energy efficient technology, which will be breaking down the different kinds of the plastics and also turning them into the valuable material that can be used for making the new plastics.
