German Regulators Investigate Autopilot Feature of Tesla Vehicles

According to the reports, the automated lane changing system of Tesla, which is known as Autopilot is now being probed by the regulators of Germany. The Federal Motor Transport Authority of Germany has been reportedly assessing whether the technology that is being offered by Tesla as an upgrade and it is safe for using the technology on the roads of Germany or not.

This regulator has also been in talks with the vehicle agency of the country of Netherlands that has been responsible for approving the vehicle for using across the continent of Europe, and the Federal Motor transport Authority and Tesla has not given any response for a request to a comment.

The automated driving technology of Tesla has been facing the continuously increasing scrutiny across the world that has been followed by a series of the fatal incidents, and in the previous week, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the United States has now launched the company’s second probe into an potential Autopilot fault after the complaint from the users for phantom breaking at the high speeds.

The Federal Motor Transport Authority of Germany has also launched a separate probe in the month of January 2022 into the possible risks of safety of the touchscreen in the central console of then different car models of Tesla.
