EverGrain Gets Upcycled Food Association (UFA) Certificate

EverGrain, the impact driven ingredient company of the United States has now received the Upcycled Food Association (UFA) certification for the company’s entire portfolio of the upcycled ingredients of barley. The company based on Missouri had been created by AB InBev for the purpose of upcycling the spent barley of brewer into the sustainable and nutritious proteins and also the fibre ingredients.

This certificate is going to be enabling the customers of EverGrain for using the claim on their packaging. Gregory Belt, chief executive officer of EverGrain said, they have started their journey in the year 2013, and long before the upcycling had been a trend along with a goal of unlocking every grain of having their potential in the barley of the company for having a positive impact on the planet and people.

He also said that, they are now transforming spent barley, what the company has been calling as saved barley into one of the most sustainable, along with accessible and Plentiful sources of the fibre and protein based on plants in the world. The large-scale facility of EverGrain at the company’s headquarters has been expected for being operational by the summer, and the plant is going to focusing on the production of EverPro, which has been a protein based on the plant that is highly compatible with the pea protein.

The company has also been exploring the plant-based protein and the ingredients of fibre that can possibly be used in the alternatives of pastas, breads and meat.
