The government of the United Kingdom is going to be introducing an additional fourth covid-19 vaccine shot for the elderly people and the clinically vulnerable population of the United Kingdom as announced by the vaccine regulator of the United Kingdom.
The adult people, who are above the age of 75 years, and the residents of the nursing home and the immunosuppressed people that are more than 12 years of age are going to be given an extra dose of a novel corona virus vaccine in the upcoming weeks as a precautionary strategy for the year 2022.
The people, who are 18 years and above are going to be offered the covid-19 vaccines developed by Moderna and Pfizer and BioNTech for their fourth dose and the children between 12 years to 18 years of age will only be given vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech.
The JCVI said that, an extra dose of the novel corona virus will be given after 6 months to an individual that is eligible for the recent dose. For the older people in the United Kingdom, this announcement of the fourth dose of the corona virus vaccine they have been offered. For the people that are severely weakened the immune system, and it is going to be the fifth covid-19 vaccine shot which the people will be offered.
