Toyota Plans to Invest in EV Parts Facility in US

The automobile company ‘Toyota Motor’ has announced that, it is planning to invest 90 million dollars in the new facilities for the production of the components or parts of the electric vehicles in the United States as the company is now looking for strengthening the electric vehicle strategy in the United States.

The company said that, it is going to be investing 73 million dollars in a new facility at the company’s Buffalo plant located in the region of West Virginia along with an initial annual production capacity of 120,000 rear motor stators, which has been an important driveline component of the electric vehicle. This plan is also following an announcement made in 2021 of the plans for investing 240 million dollars in a new production line for the hybrid powertrains at the same site.

David Rosier, president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing located in West Virginia said, the company is moving very quickly towards an electric future and the region of West Virginia will be playing a critical role in the journey of the company.

The Buffalo plant of the Toyota Motor is currently employing around 2,000 workers after the company added around 100 jobs in the year 2021 followed by an investment of 210 million dollars for the purpose of expanding the production capacity of four and six cylinder engines.

The company is also going to invest around 17 million dollars for the purpose of increasing the production capacity of the hybrid transaxle cases of the company.
