The company ‘General Motors’ has been planning to increase the production of the electric trucks and the Cadillac SUVs in the year 2022 by over six times than the planned output in the past.
Marry Barra, chief executive of General Motors said that, the company is now intending to accelerate the production of the electric vehicles that has been aiming to deliver 400,000 electric vehicles in the region of North America during the year 2022 and the year 2023, and Marry Barra has not given any specifications for how fast the rates of the production will be growing.
The new details that are shared with the suppliers have also been indicating that, the company is intending to increase the production of the company’s electric trucks and also a new fully electric Cadillac SUV to a total of around 46,000 vehicles in the year 2022, which has been more than a plan made in the past for the purpose of building only 7,000 of the vehicles in 2022.
On Tuesday, 8th February 2022, General Motors said that, as the company said, they have announced the investments of the battery cells and assembly capacity that will be giving them over one million units of the electric vehicle capacity in the region of North America by the end of the year 2025. The company also said, they are now having teams for working to accelerate all of their upcoming launches of the electric vehicles and the target of the company is to deliver 400,000 electric vehicles in the region of North America.
