US FDA Warned Against Several Treatments for Omicron Covid-19 Variant

Dr. Faheem Younus, a top infectious disease expert based in the United States has now shared a recent update on the treatment of the Omicron covid-19 variant that is warning against the use of the several treatments and drug on the patients, who had been infected with the Omicron covid-19 variant.

He also said that, 99 percent of the novel corona virus patients will not know whether the patients have been infected by the Omicron covid-19 variant of the Delta variant, and the diagnosis, symptoms, isolation and treatment protocols have mostly been similar for both the novel corona virus variants.

He also added that, according to a recent study conducted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States that has been warning against two treatments of the monoclonal antibody on the patients, who have been infected with the Omicron covid-19 variant.

According to the study, the usage of the etesevimab and bamlanivimab, that are administered together and REGEN-COV, which is including casirivimab and imdevimab has not been recommended against the patients that are infected with the new Omicron corona virus variant.

There had been several other therapies including the sotrobimab, paxlovid, and molnupiravir that are now expected for the purpose of working against the new Omicron covid-19 variant, and the study of the US FDA said that, the Omicron variant of the covid-19 has been estimated to account for over 99 percent of the cases in the country.
