The automobile company ‘Volkswagen’ has been planning to restart the sales of the battery-powered version of the company’s Up minicar for the purpose of meeting the increasing demand for all the affordable electric vehicles.

The company ‘Volkswagen’ had stopped selling the e-Up fully electric minicar in the year 2020 when the incentives of the government provided for the encouragement of the electric vehicle purchases has caused an increase in the demand. This model of the company had not been designed for the high volumes and selling the car with discounts had not been profitable.

According to the reports, the success of the sales of the small electric care such as the Dacia Spring and Renault Zoe has been showing that, there has been a demand in the market for all the electric vehicles of lower costs.

The company ‘Volkswagen’ said that, they have now temporarily taken the car ‘e-Up’ off the market in the year 2020 due to delivery times that has increased dramatically because of the high demand, and the company has now decided to re-launch the car into the market for sales.
