The company ‘Novelis Inc.,’ a subsidiary of Hindalco is going to be investing 365 million dollars for building a highly-advanced recycling centre for the automobile industry in the region of North America, and along with an annual casting capacity of 240,000 tonnes of the sheet, and the company has also been expecting that, the new facility is going to be decreasing the company’s emissions of carbon by more than one million tonnes every year.
This new recycling facility of the company is going to be built on the adjacent side to the existing automobile finishing pant of the company ‘Novelis’ in the region of Guthrie, Kentucy, as said by the company.
The groundbreaking thing for the new recycling facility has been scheduled for the beginning of the year 2022, along with the commissioning that has been expected in the year 2024, and when the plant will be fully operational, and this expansion is going to be adding around 140 new jobs in the region of Guthrie.
In the month of October 2021, the company has also announced the opening of the new plant for automobile finishing in the region of Guthrie, that has currently been employing 150 people and is also going to grow to around 190 in the upcoming two years.
This new centre is also going to be enabling the Novelis for growing the company’s programme of the closed-loop-recycling along with the more automobile customers in the region of North America.
