The company has already started the production of the pre-series production of the Volkswagen ID.4 as the company’s plant located in Chattanooga in the United States in the month of August 2021, and the company has also announced the beginning of the series of the production during the year 2022, and the Volkswagen ID.4 models that are currently sold in the region of North America is going to be built in the region of Zwickau.

Scott Koegh, head of Volkswagen North America has also confirmed that, the United States version of the Volkswagen ID.4 is going to be differing slightly from the ID.4 model produced in Europe, and among the other things the battery cells produced by the SK Innovation in Georgia is going to be used instead of the battery cells produced from the LG Energy Solution.

The changes in the model have probably been because of the cells, that is also using a bit different cell chemistry, and the battery and the rest of the SUV are not likely going to be changed, and Scott Keogh said that, around 69 percent of the car produced in both the regions will be identical.
