EDF Renewables, a leading renewable energy company in the world and OVHcloud, cloud solutions provider in Europe, has now entered into a renewable energy power purchase agreement, and this agreement has been covering the supply of the renewable electricity from a 50 megawatt solar energy plant, which is going to be built in France, that has been owned and operated by the EDF Renewables.
Under the deal, the company ‘OVHcloud’ is going to be supplied with the renewable energy priced competitively for the purpose of powering a number if the data centres of the company in France, that is currently consisting of around 16 buildings at four different locations in country.
The deal is also going to help in meeting the decarbonisation goal of the OVHcloud for obtaining 100 percent of the electricity of the company from the different sources of the renewable by 2025.
EDF Renewables is going to building a 50 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in the southern region of France, along with a commissioning date scheduled in the year 2024, and this has been the ninth renewable power purchase agreement made by the EDF renewables along with the business in the region of France in the past three years.
Nicolas Couderc, executive VP at EDF Renewables, France said, they are very proud for having agreed to a partnership with the OVHcloud, and this deal has also been representing a step forward in the execution of the solar energy plan of the EDF renewables, that has been aiming to make the company a leading competitor in the solar energy in France.
