The number of new cars that were sold in the United Kingdom has been increased in November 2021 for the first time in around four months, that has been fuelled by doubling the sales of the electric vehicles as the consumers that have been increasingly looking to the more forms of the transport that are environmentally friendly.
Around 22,000 fully electric vehicles that had been registered in the month of November 2021, which are more than double than 10,345, which were registered in the same month in the year 2020, as the share of the total car sales have been accounted for the electric vehicles has been increased to 19 percent.
The Tesla Model 3 had been third bestselling electric car in the country with 3,077 cars sold, and it has also been the best-selling fully electric vehicle in the United Kingdom. This boom in the sales of the electric cars have been helping the overall sales of the new cars for reaching 115,706 vehicles in the month of November 2021, which has been an increase of 1.7 percent as compared to November 2020.
As the increase in sales has been a booster for the car industry in the United Kingdom, the sales are still close to the levels before the covid-19 pandemic. James Fairclough, chief executive of AA Cars said, after the four worst months, which the automobile industry can hardly forget, the tide has finally been turning for the new car sales in the United Kingdom.
