Report: Environment Agency Helps Industry to Decrease Carbon Emissions to Tackle Climate Change

According to a new report on the energy efficiency reward scheme, that has been showing how the businesses across several sectors of the industry had been decreasing the usage in order for tackling the climate change. The CCA (Climate Change Agreements) scheme, that has been offering the tax benefits to the companies that agree to the targets for the energy efficiency, which has been seeing a decrease in the emissions of 6.6 million tonnes of the carbon dioxide, which has been equivalent during the span of 2019 and 2020.

This scheme has also been equating to a complete decrease in the emissions of 13.3 percent around a total of 8,705 facilities that has been signed up to the scheme, that has been administered by the Environment Agency of the United States on behalf of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) of the United Kingdom.

According to the Environmental Agency, the CCA scheme has been seeing the total savings of the carbon emissions of 23.8 million tonnes of the equivalent carbon dioxide. Sir James Bevan, chief executive of the Environmental Agency said, the CCA scheme has been encouraging the businesses for finding different ways for decreasing their energy usage and consequently decreasing the carbon emissions, and the innovation has been key reason and the Environment Agency is also going to support it through all the progressive regulation.

The CCA scheme has also been encouraging the energy decrease across the United Kingdom along with the associated decrease in the emissions of carbon dioxide for providing help to the drive of UK for becoming net zero by the year 2050.
