Procter & Gamble company’s two brands ‘Old Spice’ and ‘Secret’ have been voluntarily recalling certain aerosol sprays and deodorants that have been suspected of having a chemical present in the products that can cause cancer.
According to the reports, the company has mentioned of recalling the aerosol deodorants that have an expiry up to September 2023, for the presence of the chemical ‘benzene’, which is chemical that causes cancer, had been suspected in the products.
In the recall, the company further mentioned that, even though the company did not received the reports of any incident, which has been caused because of the company’s key products, and the company has also decided for recalling the products for the purpose of maintaining caution.
According to the reports, the exposure of the chemical ‘benzene’ can possibly occur orally, by inhalation and also through the skin, and this can also be contributing to the types of cancer disease which is including leukemia, blood disorders and blood cancer of the bone marrow.
Procter and Gamble Co., has also asked the retailers in the countries including Canada and the United States for removing all the deodorants of Old Spice and Secret from the shelves of their stores, and the company has also put down the list of the deodorants of both the brands that are going to be recalled.
