Germany: Nokia Deploys 5G Private Wireless Network to Pilot Project of Volkswagen

The company ‘Nokia’ has now deployed a private 5G wireless network for the automobile company ‘Volkswagen’ at its main plant based in Wolfsburg, Germany, and the private campus network has been using the Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) solution of Nokia for the purpose of providing the secure, reliable, real-time connectivity and also enabling the company ‘Volkswagen’ to start trialling the use cases of the smart factory.

Nokia’s industrial-grade private 5G wireless network has been covering the production and development center and also the pilot hall at the facility of Volkswagne based in Wolfsburg, Germany. With the help of the pilot project, the automobile company is going to be testing that, whether the 5G technology will be meets all the demand requirements for the production of the vehicle along with the goal for increasing the efficiency and flexibility in the production series in the future.

The deployment of Nokia DAC has been offering the reliable high and low bandwidth latency connectivity for the vehicles, machines, sensors along with several other equipment, and the initial use cases, which are currently being tested has been including the wireless upload of the data for the vehicles manufactured along with the intelligent networking of the robots and also the wireless assembly tools.
