Report: UK Planning to Launch Merck’s Anti-Covid-19 Pill by Christmas

The National Health Service (NHS) of United Kingdom is now planning to launch the antiviral pill ‘Molnupiravir’ produced by Merck that, the people who had been tested positive for the novel corona virus can take the pills at home.

The pill ‘Molnupiravir’ can possibly be offered to the most vulnerable people or patients by the Christmas, and Sajid Javid, health secretary of the United Kingdom has been reportedly preparing for announcing the beginning of the a national pilot of the pill, which the United Kingdom has become the first country in the world to approve the pill or drug.

According to the report, a timeframe of the roll out programme has not been confirmed yet and the launch of drug is going to be focusing on the prevention of the vulnerable novel corona virus patients, which are becoming seriously ill along with needing the proper hospital treatment.

The drug ‘Molnupiravir’ can also be taken by the people, who had been tested positive for the novel corona virus and who are having at least one risk factor for the development of serious illness like diabetes, heart disease, obesity and over 60 years age people.

The UK NHS is also going to be delivering the courses of the anti-covid-19 pill for the clinically vulnerable and also the immunosuppressant patients within at least 48 hours of the people testing positive for the novel corona virus.
