Platform Science, a leading connected vehicle platform and Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), has announced the launch of a virtual vehicle, which has been the first OEM platform that is responsible for enabling the fleets for accessing the software solutions, telematics, third party applications and real-time data directly from the vehicles.
Additionally, this new platform is also providing the tools for managing those applications, along with the connectivity and the drivers of the mobile devices need to use them, and the Virtual Vehicle has been representing an approach that is providing the customers greater value and also an expanded choice of the services enabled by the software significantly.
Sanjiv Khurana, head of the connected service group at Daimler Trucks North America said, with the Virtual Vehicle, they are now offering their customers an open digital services and solutions platform that generally allows them to choose the fleet applications that are best meeting their needs.
He also said, this system has been seamlessly enable in the trucks of the company without any need for the installation of any kind of additional telematics hardware or the costs and loss of the uptime, and with the partnership of the company with Platform Science, that are going to be building on the string connectivity, which has already been integrated into the trucks and it is also offering the unprecedented scalability, flexibility and efficiency.
Virtual Vehicle has also been another of the expanding solutions of Daimler Trucks North America that has been going beyond the service and sales of the vehicles.
