Covid-19 Vaccine for Children between 5 to 11 Years Gets Final Clearance in US

The Federal Health Officials of the United States have now given the final clearance for using the corona virus vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech for around 28 million children coming in the age group of 5 to 11 years recommending all the eligible children to get vaccinated without any contradictions.

Lee Savio Beers, president of AAP US said, by sharing this corona virus vaccine with their children has been a big step forward and it has also been providing more confidence and optimism to all the children about the future. He also said, the paediatricians have been eager to participate in the immunization process and they are also going to talk with the families about this novel corona virus vaccine, and they also want to make sure that, the access to this vaccine has been equitable, and every child should be able to benefit.

On Tuesday, 2^nd November 2021, Rochelle Walensky, director of US CDC has also signed off on using the novel corona virus vaccine in the children followed by a vote of 14-0 in the favour of the vaccine by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of US CDC. She also said, with the help of science, they have now taken another important step in the country’s fight against the corona virus.

This final clearance of the corona virus vaccines comes four days after the US FDA has cleared the emergency use authorization of the corona virus vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech for the children between 5 to 11 years of age.
