The company ‘Semco Maritime’ is going to be providing the company ‘Vineyard Wind’ with the maintenance and service solutions for the offshore wind energy projects in the United States, which has been including the 1200 megawatt Commonwealth wind proposal. Under the terms of the partnership, the Semco Maritime is going to be creating a service and maintenance hub in the region of New Bedford in Massachusetts along with hiring around 40 people in the upcoming years.
The company is also going to be hiring the local residents in a number of positions, which is also including the management, specialists, engineers, administration and staff technicians, and this partnership between both the companies has been contingent on the Commonwealth Wind, which is being selected by the state in most of the recent round of the solicitation for the offshore wind energy.
Vineyard Wind has also announced that, Semco Maritime has been selected as the most preferred supplier for the purpose of maintaining the foundations and the electric service platform for the project known as Vineyard Wind 1, and this partnership is also going to give Semco Maritime, the ability for working with the several other projects and developers in the country.
