Pfizer Asks US Government to Allow Covid-19 Vaccine for Children Aged 5 to 11 years

On Thursday, 7th October 2021, Pfizer has asked the government of the United States for the purpose of allowing the use of its novel corona virus vaccine in the children between 5 years to 11 years of age, and if the regulator of the country agrees, the vaccination can possibly start within a matter of weeks.

Several parents and paediatricians have also been clamouring for the protection for the children, who are younger the 12 years of age, and the current age cut off for the novel corona virus vaccine, that has been produced by Pfizer and BioNTech.

Pfizer said, it had also formally filed the applications of the vaccine with US FDA, and now the US FDA is going to have to decide if there has been enough evidence, which the shots will be safe and are going to be working for the young children like the country is doing for the teenagers and adults, and an independent expert panel is also going to publicly debate the evidence on 26th October 2021.

According to the reports, Pfizer said that, the research of the company has been showing that, the young kids should be getting the third dose of the novel corona virus vaccine now given to everybody else, and after the secondary dose of the children, the children under 5 years to 11 years gave also developed the antibody level to fight against the virus just as strong as the teenagers and young adults are getting from the regular shots of the novel corona virus vaccine.
